MOV

  • The MOV (Move) instruction is used to copy the value from one General Purpose Register (Rr) into another General Purpose Register (Rd).

Instruction Syntax

MOV Rd, Rr
  • Rd: The destination register where the value from Rr will be copied.
    • Must be one of the 32 general-purpose registers: R0–R31.
  • Rr: The source register that contains the value to be copied.
    • Must be one of the 32 general-purpose registers: R0–R31.

Example

Valid Instruction:
MOV R10, R20
  • R10: R10 is valid since it is within the register range R0–R31.
  • R20: R20 is valid since it is within the register range R0–R31.
  • Effect: Copy the value from R20 into R10.
